Position Summary: The Director of Project Management leads a team of Project Managers which are responsible for the successful kick-off, management, and close-out of switchgear and lighting projects. Collaboration with the Director of Quotations and VP of Sales will be important especially in the facilitation of the hand-off process between sales and operations to make sure the PM has the information needed to run the project effectively. The Director and Project Management Team is critical to Advance’s success and will directly impact customer retention, company profitability, and the customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Management/Operations
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
• Hire, develop, and manage performance of project managers, in all specialties
• Maintain and build a team centric environment.
• Assist in developing and implementing process improvement to deliver on Advance’s project related services.
• Learn and understand pricing, competition, key customers, and key vendors with Advance’s market.

Position Summary: The Project Manager is directly responsible for managing all aspects of a switchgear project – from award of quotation to close-out. The Project Manager’s three main objectives include meeting project deadlines, providing customer solutions and increasing profitably.

• Gather crucial information from quotations team, sales and customer to successfully meet project requirements and customer expectations
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with familiarity with Microsoft Applications (e.g. Excel, Word, OneNote, Outlook and Teams)
• Review electrical drawings and specifications with the Quotation Specialist(s) to understand assigned project requirements and ensure quotation is accurate
• Utilize Schneider Electric’s SE Advantage Quotation Software to make design changes during submittal review

• Produce required deliverables including submittals, weekly ship schedules and O&M’s
• Create job accounts and issue purchase orders to vendors

  • Communicates & Collaborates with Logistics Coordinator and Transportation Supervisor
  • Take walk around warehouse to get eyes on product (skids, wire, DTS, etc) – 3X Per Day
    • 11:30am – Morning
    • 3:00pm – After Huddle
    • 5:30pm – Check on missing tickets to route (wire dept & shipping/queue)
  • Makes sure special instructions/large orders/ are communicated to shipping supervisor and lead
    • Write down information on shipping board
  • Pre-Loads:  Communicate to shipping what trucks can be loaded with large order/special instructions (pipe, wire, carts, etc)
  • Creates delivery route for each driver
  • Calls customer to clarify delivery time requirements, or site delivery questions, if question or route conflict exist
  • Hand out Manifested Routes to Shipping for loading of trucks
    • Run Pipe Report by Route Report – After Manifest
  • Get higher priority trucks loaded first (when product available) – (Flatbed, Higher Priority Projects, Saturday Deliveries, etc.)
  • Handles driver feedback on changes in shipping instructions or additional details related to stops
    • Calls customer to confirm any changes/info from driver
    • Contacts inside sales to relay message from driver feedback (site delivery)
    • Changes Original ship ticket & Job Account to accurate shipping instructions
    • If address was wrong: Updates Job Account with correct address & notify sales of update.
  • Handles feedback on other route improvements
  • Maintains Ship Via’s Accuracy: 
    • All orders need to be updated with expected ship via if they are incorrect as they are posted to the routing spreadsheet.  This need to happen as quick as possible so that ship via can be changed before pick ticket prints and worst case, before labels are printed for material.
    • Daily: Review report called “Changed Ship Via During Manifest Close”
    • Look for orders that need to have ship via changed permanently
    • Update “ship to” job account or zip code with correct ship via
      • If no job account exists and more than X orders have shipped to a particular address, have Kim create a job account.  Notify inside sales person if job account is created so they are aware and will use. Also, update zip codes for ship to addresses in orders and job accounts if incorrect
    • When Logistics coordinator/sales calls with changes to ticket in afternoon/night:
      • Reprints, and replaces tickets on floor in shipping and wire dept.
      • Also, gets any cancelled material put back into stock.
    • Keeps Track of Hold Tickets & Hold File:  Routes at appropriate day and time.

Warehouse Team Member Job Description

Basic Function: The Warehouse Team is responsible for the successful movement of inventory to satisfy customer demand.  This includes receiving and put up of inventory, movement of inventory within warehouse, picking of inventory to fill orders, loading trucks.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Transactions:

  1. Unload inbound freight
  2. Inspect and receive inbound freight
  3. Put away inbound freight/inventory in proper locations
  4. Movement of inventory within warehouse
  5. Pick inventory to fill orders within prescribed picking quota as set by warehouse management (go to location where product is located within warehouse, identify proper product and quantity, pull/pick product from location, and transport to the checking station)
  6. Check order for proper part numbers and quantities
  7. Pack inventory per order requirements
  8. Maneuvering of delivery trucks around warehouse could be required
  9. Load orders on delivery trucks
  10. Maintain physical condition of the warehouse by cleaning and organizing inventory and equipment utilizing 5S methodology: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  11. Perform duties per current procedures
  12. Provide feedback to warehouse manager on ways work could be done more efficiently or with less errors
  13. Other duties may be required to be performed related to the warehouse, internal office, and exterior of building

 

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Experience – Preferred 1-2 years in a warehouse role
  3. Valid Driver’s License

 

Position Requirements:

  3. Proficient on the internet required. Proficient in Microsoft office preferred
